Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology

WMU’s department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology offers several programs at the master's level. Most programs require a minimum of 48 credit hours. Each option includes six departmental core courses in addition to required course work specifically related to each program, and the opportunity for some elective choices. Students are admitted to not only the CECP Department, but are also admitted to a particular option within the department.

Admission Deadlines

  • Summer I and Summer II: January 15.
    Students seeking financial aid for the Fall semester should also apply by this deadline. (Please note students applying at the Traverse City Campus have a deadline of January 10.)
  • Fall: May 15.
  • Spring: September 15.
