
WMU offers one of the nation’s largest Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs accredited by the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration. The program integrates research, teaching, and service in a manner that enhances leadership skills, administrative capabilities, management practices, and an understanding of environmental constraints on public policy. In addition, the program curriculum
is practitioner-oriented, and emphasizes the administration of

In the past 25 years, the WMU Master of Public Administration program has graduated more than 1,500 men and women who hold leadership positions in federal, state and local governments, health care and social services organizations, nonprofit agencies, and academic institutions. The public, non-profit, and health care sectors provide unparalleled opportunities for new ideas and innovation. Graduates of this program will have a better understanding of the field of public administration and will have obtained the credential desired by many organizations for middle and upper management positions.
