Business and Engineering Professions

Masters of Business Administration (MBA) – this is the cross-functional AACSB accredited MBA program which is recognized nationally as the premier advanced business degree for those on the fast track to success.  In addition to being well prepared in all facets of business operations, WMU MBA students benefit from dialog with highly qualified University faculty and extremely talented fellow students employed by top companies in the metro area.  This is the MBA for students seeking to maximize earning potential and open doors to future career opportunities.

Human Resources Development (MA) – businesses recognize that talented people are scarce commodities, so it is vital to attract, develop, promote and retain the best and brightest.  Increasingly, leadership teams in corporate and other settings are involving HRD professionals at the business strategy level to influence and deliver employee training and development to impact business results.  Instead of a broad overview of the multiple aspects of the human resources function, this program specifically provides graduates with the knowledge, skills, concepts and methods of the HRD profession.

Engineering Management (MS) – the Masters degree in Engineering Management is designed for those who wish to stay in a technical specialty area, but who want to be prepared for middle and upper management positions in that technical field.  The degree includes skill development in management and administrative areas not commonly found in undergraduate engineering programs.

Industrial Engineering (MSE) – the Masters degree in Industrial Engineering specifically prepares students for advanced levels of professional practice.  Both manufacturing and service related industries need highly skilled employees qualified in the advanced concepts of industrial engineering.  This program builds directly upon an undergraduate degree in engineering and utilizes the recent engineering work experiences of students in class discussions.
