You are welcome to order your books from another vendor, if it is more convenient for you to do so.

We have vending machines in the commons with snacks, coffee, and pop.  A microwave is available next to the vending machines.  There are lots of fast food restaurants within a couple of miles from campus.

Currently enrolled students may use the computer lab any time our office is open or classes are in session, except when a class is scheduled for the lab. Call us first at (269) 934-1500 to be sure it is available.

Sorry, children are not allowed on the computers and we do not have supervision available in our building for children.  LMC offers a childcare service.

Students may use LMC’s library or their local library as well as Waldo Library on the main campus.  If you apply for a MichCard at your local library you can use many others in the state.

No.  There is plenty of free parking directly adjacent to our building.

There is a monitor directly adjacent to the front door in the lobby that lists the classes and room numbers.  It also displays any special events in the building.

Our office is open from 8am to 9pm Monday through Thursday when classes are in session and Friday, from 8am to 5pm, unless there is a Friday evening class.  Between semesters, or when no evening class is scheduled the office is open Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

Your instructor will usually provide you with a means of contacting him or her, either by telephone or email. If you do not have access to that information or cannot reach him or her, you may leave a message for the instructor at our office and we will deliver that message at the earliest opportunity.

If the Main Campus in Kalamazoo is forced to close due to bad weather, the Southwest Campus will also close. (This is because so many faculty drive each day from Kalamazoo, that we would expect most individual classes to be canceled anyway.)

If the weather or road conditions in St. Joseph/Benton Harbor are considered too treacherous for safe local travel, the Southwest Campus may be forced to close, even if the Main Campus in Kalamazoo remains open. (Please note: University closing criteria is different from what is established by local public schools concerned about young children and bus transportation on rural roads.)

Faculty generally try to reach consensus with students in their classes to determine how best to make up the instruction that was missed due to unanticipated closings and cancellations.

NOTE: Listen to the local radio and television stations for announcements regarding closing due to inclement weather. Please use your own judgment when making a decision regarding travel to the Southwest Campus during inclement weather, even if classes are not cancelled.

You can pick up internship applications from Lynn Lee during her scheduled advising dates starting on September 11, 2006.  Please see the academic advising schedule for dates.

The new WebKit CD's for dial-up Internet users are now available at the Southwest and South Haven Campuses.  These replace the 7.3 versions and contain the new dial-up numbers for faculty, staff and students outside the Kalamazoo and Battle Creek area.
